My audio setup + Wishlist

Posted by WritersBlock Jun. 15, 2009 @ 9:55 AM EDT

Ok, for those that may be interested, I'll enlighten you as to what I have/what I use to make my music.

What I have:
Hardware-
Casio CTK-800 5 octave MIDI keyboard
M-Audio Oxygen8 v2 2 octave MIDI controller keyboard
RP-50 Guitar effects processor
Delay pedal

Programs-
Fl Studio (8.5 BETA)
Finale Notepad 2008
Audacity
MilkyTracker
Ableton Live Light 6

VST/VSTi's-
3xOsc
Sytrus
SynPlant
Mini DiZi
String Theory

The rest is samples and soundfonts.

I got the M-Audio MIDI controller today, and I'm having fun figuring that out. I was looking through some really neat hardware/software stuffs at the music shop today, and the guy showing me around let me toy around with this monster. $1,200 AU, slightly out of my price range at the moment, but it's a slicker, more professional DAW than FL, and from what what I noticed, it had a decent sample library, and did a lot of the stuff that FL does in a slightly different manner. And it comes with its own hardware, which looks and feels so sexy. Definitely on my wishlist. I was also recommended this, which also looks pretty cool.
I was looking at upgrading my DAW from FL to Reason, but Maschine is just so damn beautiful.

Feel free to ask questions, if you have any, that is...

To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.
I fear not, I see not reason for fear. In the end we will be the victors. For though at times the flame of liberty may cease to shine, the ember will never expire
