I'm starting to crank out material for my novel for National Novel Writing Month. I'm posting the first draft on my blog for you guys to read as I write, so far I've got the first 6 "chapters" of the exposition up. Been trying to get some major assignments done at the same time so I'm having to juggle priorities. Anyway, here's the links:

[*note] For those of you interested, the chapters are all named after song titles. It was an idea that came to me today, and I think they're much better, and more poetic than my previous titles. And they're also a bit more ambiguous as far as plots go.

I imagine, since this is a first draft that you'll be back to the editing blackboard after you get it all done. Be wary of changing tenses, I know that it's neat stylistically, but it can be confusing. I haven't gotten through it all, but it's an interesting piece of work, well done :)

Yeah, I'll be editing through it the months after I finish. Then I hope to send it off to publishing companies to look through. If my edits are any good.

It's up to you, really. It's going to be 50,000 words when it's all done, so you'd get through it quicker going piece by piece. It all depends on how fast I work through it. I'm behind schedule at the moment, by about 8,000 words, so over the next few weeks I'll hopefully get a lot of writing done. Aiming to have chapter 2 done over the next few days.

About how many pages would 50,000 words be? Just so I can get an idea of how big the whole thing will be.

Depends on how I format it. I think it'll be somewhere between 200 and 300 pages. On A4, 22,000 words stands at 34 pages for me. I'll be using a smaller page size and larger font when going to print. I think My rough estimates put my current progress at 80-90 pages.

It should hopefully be finished in the next 12 days.

And yeah they're all song titles. In order the bands are; Daft Punk, Radiohead, Incubus, Augie March, Muse, The Chemical Brothers, Pendulum, Does It Offend You, Yeah? and The Living End.

And I'm glad you like it so far. Personally, I think it gets better the further you get into it. More action and some good (well I think it's good *bias*) character development. I hope you keep reading it. :3
