The Pretenders

"Haha, better than your average"

submission: The Pretenders
date: May 19, 2009

homemade film. It's not hollywood, but the camerawork and script was pretty well executed. Maybe some lighting issues here and there, I'm going to guess that the sound was the quality it was because of the overall film's quality being reduced a bit. I thought the ending was, for the most part, decent, but the dancing around felt a bit out of place. Great use of humour, I think you guys did a decent job. Well done!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review. We did a couple of shots of the ending, but it just seemed to be the only one that went with the movie. I really don't know what else would have fit there though.

Perhaps we should invest in some mics to make the sound better. That's the only thing that is really missing from our movies now.

A Bid For Freedom

"Great work"

submission: A Bid For Freedom
date: April 21, 2009

The illustrations were wonderful, the voicework was brilliant, and the story, impeccable. Congratulations on making a success out of your storybook collab. Only thing to note is that the text is a little hard to read. This would have been a much bigger problem if the voices weren't as clear as they were.

Author's Response:

I've seen your works in the Storybook Collab; you're very poetic and literate, so this kind of reception is truly wonderful. Thank you for checking this out and I'm thrilled you enjoyed it!

The text issue has been fixed; enjoy!

I very much look forward to seeing you deliver something for the Collab yourself; I hope to see you on here soon doing similiar business!

Cheers, and best of luck to you in your own ventures!

I'm Still Here

"Really nice stuff"

submission: I'm Still Here

Your artwork and transitions between sketches were really good. It hasn't got a clear-cut plot, nor does it have the best artwork in the world, but it had artistic vision, and I think it's one of those things that could have a hundred different meanings, you just need to replay it and replay it and replay it.
Nice work. Be proud.

Lol quoted me. :3
A classic Lochie humourous short. Ahh, the style of old film and lochie ^___^ meld together unexpectedly well. I laughed, I 5'd, I give you a pat on the back, my fine sir.

I'm now "leet". Care to go for a joyride in my ROFLcopter?

Stickya Adventurya

"Haha, nice work guys"

submission: Stickya Adventurya
date: August 11, 2008

Fart, Guitar, Skateboard.
Who knew that combination would have such epic results. A great puzzling game, nice humour, love the ending. I'd love to see stickya adventura 2 a bit more comprehensible. There were a few things that bugged me, such as the room with the walls closing in. I kiiled a few enemies at the start and then I just waited for the walls to kill them. The controls for the snake were difficult to get control over. Great game, great fun, up the graphics and sound quality and you'll have something even better.
Great work, Eggy, Lochie.

Apples.

"I also wear a paper bag on my head."

submission: Apples.
date: May 29, 2008

I think it's great how they continue at it at the end, even though there's plenty more apples to go round.
I was wondering, how would the guy with the paper bag eat an apple anyway, without removing his paper bag? I saw no mouth on that character! And the one that was all mouth and no body, how did he manage NOT to eat it?
Simple storylline, elegant and well executed. Music was great. An all around class act. *thumbs up*

May 29, 2008

Author's Response:

That's a good question!
They didn't wan't to eat the apple anyway, they just wanted to fight over it. :)

Gone to Bel Air, brb.

"I think that"

date: May 22, 2008

it was good.
Fun. Nice. Random.
Perfect for people like me with a short attention span.
Maybe if you added something shiny in there... or a red ball...
Oh, and you spelled "End" wrong, that was the part at the end of the movie, you spelled it "edn". Might want to fix that.
I'll be waiting for your return from Bel Air, so that you can make more awesome flash movies.
=D

May 23, 2008

Author's Response:

A red ball would have fitten perfectly, I don't know why I didn't put that in! D:

I'll be back from Bel Air soon.
Thanks! :D

Love dan paladin's art style, and I think you totally nailed the flathead look in the submission. Congrats on snagging a prize for pico day, well deserved. Thanks for using my audio, and sharing a cut of the prize with me, it was a very pleasant surprise.

Well done!

Compulse

"An entertaining game"

submission: Compulse
date: March 31, 2008

The idea is unique, and it's not too hard to work out. The levels themselves are great, and the challenge of "par" and "pro" gives something to accomplish. The design is great, very open ended. The way I choose to complete a level may be completely different to the way someone else completes that same level. When the levels become tougher, it becomes more frustrating, but the music encourages patience, and, like you mentioned in one of the levels, on some levels you just need to have the endurance to work through the level.
I love playing puzzle games, and this is definitely one of the better ones. A simple, creative idea, it was well executed, and I feel like I was well rewarded, when I completed the game with all levels on or under the "pro" standard. (One, I completed with 10 blocks, when the pro level was 18). There was one issue I had. There were times when I had multiple blocks on top of eachother, and it was awkward to move around. I would move one below the group of blocks, and then click the pile again, and the one below was caught by my cursor. There was also one point where a block was in the corner just above the "go" button, and upon clicking "go", the button would move down to my cursor and into the panel where it was removed. They're just little things, but it was enough to get to me...

Overall, it's a great game, time well spent, although for a game, it doesn't have a great replay value once you've beaten the game. I'll definitely give this game a 5 and a recommendation for the puzzles collection. Great work! I always love playing your games. +Fav artist too.

Our Love

"=/ yeah"

submission: Our Love
date: March 7, 2008

That song sucks bad. I agree that the use of the guitar hero controller was funny, and the animation wasn't too bad, but I think that you could have put more detail into it. For example, instead of having the lyrics on the screen, maybe have images that reflect the lyrics. You could have it so that it's night time, and they're sitting by a camp fire, and a faded image of harry potter or gandalf would appear in the sky. That's just me with ideas, but, yeah, something like that would really bring the graphics up a notch and make it more interesting. But as it is, it was quite well done, good lip synching.
Keep it up!
