It takes the reference to enjoy this game...

I give it a 10.
I'm Simon, who's from space.
And we're both on 43 except for Julie who's behind on 67.
I prefer the show, but it's not a bad idea, gotta work on making it entertaining enough to appeal to those who don't get the reference, and maybe add more to it, so that it's less boring, it's not as fast paced as the actual show, so you've got to compensate for that.
Imaginary nimbers: Shifty-six.
Ohh... I'm afraid shifty-six is a real number...

=D

If I may become a smidge esoteric for a second, I like to think that the whole point is that people don't get the game. If you get the game, then you have a slight advantage. And isn't the home game of game shows always slower than the real bit? :-P I'm sorry, I must have nodded off. I think you got Wangernumb a while ago. Did you say 6?

Very useful

It's got a great basic layout for beginners to understand it easily. It also goes into good depth, so that you can make something decent with the info in the tut. Great work, I'll recommend it for the tutorial collection. Great work.

Thanks!

Nice idea, lacking presentation

If you can present it in a slick and neat way, this game would have a lot more appeal. The buttons for the music are pretty ugly, the background is plain, the timer could be more appealing with a bit more depth. Nice programming though, you did a decent job with that. If you can work in some textures and gradients that add depth to the background, present the numbers and text box and everything in an organised and cool way, this could do pretty well, although it doesn't have much in terms of replay value and entertainment, if you could make it a little more innovative and unique, then it'd certainly be fun to play.

I got 9 digits.

Good job

Thanks for the review! I'm gonna try to improve the graphics in my next tester; I hope I can pull it off! Congratulations on your score, by the way.

Not much of a flash...

I don't really enjoy this sort of thing. As far as I know you just grabbed a bunch of "funny" error messages off a website, and there are some much better windows parodies out there, that have some more originality to them. The presentation is poor. A couple of buttons, forward and back? That means it's just a slideshow! You could have at least made the actual error messages into buttons. You could have done a ton of stuff to make this better, have an on/off button for the music, have more than one song to choose from. Have a proper background, make the buttons more aesthetic, make it more interactive. Make it something you can be proud of, use your own jokes, the different versions of windows error messages makes it look even more mediochre. I hope you try harder and put much more effort into your next flash. It's nothing personal, it's just that anyone could string together a flash like this in half an hour, without any real knowledge of flash beforehand.

Sorry =/

I know what you mean....... Well, just for your knowing, this is one of my first flashes. The error messages are generated using: atom.smasher.org

Many of them are classics. I'll might make a error game in Errors 2008, in which errors respond, but the slide show will still be there, but with windows (ok, depends on OS, the 08 edition will have many different OSs) background and that stuff. I'll make a sound on off button, and try to have more of my own ideas. Still, pretty many here was my own ideas, maybe someone else have got the same idea but, well......

Thanks for your review anyway!

This is a cool game

I've got a little bit of a lag with my mouse, so that makes things a little more difficult, but from level 2, it provides a great challenge.
I wouldn't mind maybe having a keyboard controlled version, with requirements changed accordingly, as some people prefer keyboard controls to the mouse.
Good job, and thanks for using my audio! XD

ShirkDeio responds:

Thanks for making such a great song!

If I get the chance, I might yet add keyboard controls. Thanks for the review!

Honestly...

That was terrible. A tutorail is something that is meant to have a neat presentation and an organisation of useful information, which is meant to impress the person who knows nothing of flash. People should be able to look at it and say "wow, I wish that I could animate like that" which makes them WANT to watch the rest of the tutorial. This... hmm, you edited the NG preloader to look much worse than it started with, you should have left that as it was. The coloured movieclips in the corners, they looked really messy, at least could you have refrained from moving them around. Then the tutorial taught me how to draw three completely different poses of a STICK FIGURE and link them together to make a movie clip that looks nothing like walking. Then you show the very basic art of TWEENING. Click the timeline, "insert motion tween". There are so many tutorials that show how to tween, and then go further on to more useful information. And as for the walking stick, anyone can do it like that, you should learn how to make it look decent before you tell people to copy you. The last thing the flash portal needs is more noobs uploading poor stick flashes. Please, PLEASE, brush up on your flash skills before trying to teach others flash.
Beginners would find a lot more help in a proffesionally made tutorial.
Sorry to sound harsh, but this is just terrible.

DP responds:

Nice long review.

Challenging

I like how you really get put under the pump to get through the quiz. Some of the questions seem pretty easy, but the timer sorts that out. I'm expecting a greater challenge for the next round.
It's a good game, much better than basic q&a, quick thinking.
Nice work.

Thanks for using my music =D

ShmenonPie responds:

Hey, I liked your music, it sounded great, definitely keep making more! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm also glad you liked the time limit, but I'm probably going to extend it due to that being the most requested fix.

I'm a writer.
