This is some great work, knux! I'll consider it collab worthy. The blend is quite decent. My only issue is the quality is a little fuzzy in parts (may just be my computer though...)
I'll 5'en this.

It should be well above that...
Congratulations, it's a hit!

Thanks, I worked hard on it for days and just when I was about to call it quits, my cousin showed up and we stormed the FL program.

It's not profoundly memorable, or remarkably beautiful, but it's nice, and I'll give you that. The notes jump too far for my liking, as it comes across as a classical ambient piece. The flow doesn't sound as smooth as I'd like it to be. But it's not bad, as I've said, it's just nice.
Cheers, keep it up!

"Nice marimba-ish percussion"
This sounds great. I'd like to hear more higher frequencies in the foreground of this piece, maybe, like a pan flute type thing. It has a dacent sound, once all the instruments are blended together, bass feels like it should be out of place with this sort of music, but it sounds nice at that low level. Piano adds a nice touch.
Good work. Those 2-3 weeks spent on this piece were clearly not wasted.
Cheers.

This is a lovely ambient type classical piece. The slow tremolo type sound in the higher strings works very nicely. The use of accidentals is great, that way it gets under the skin. It's a great use of instrumental blend.
Top work.

Because I planned on writing a song today and I never quite got past the finishing line. In fact, I only just got through the beginning, then started on something else. Well, actually, I downloaded a bunch of VSTs today and I was testing them out. But now I have two loose ends. Lucky I wrote two loops yesterday. I suggest you check them out now >: (
Please?
Neways, about the actual song...
Drums nice, bass nice, piano nice. I like the piano. Atmosphere is good. Strings are great, the echo is nice. It's good to see some awesome submissions already out in 08.
I don't know what else to say, well, this song is smooth, rig, and it sits well for a 5:37 song, which is nice. It has a soothing, almost ambient feel to it. Good job. 5/5, 9/10.
=D

Thanks for the review! I'll check out your loops, don't worry ;D
By the way, the guitar was made with a free VST called String Theory - download it from www.ugoaudio.com

"Hey, this is some cool locomotive music."
It's got a great vibe, high energy. It put a smile on my face.
The instrument blend is great.

This is a nice riff. I'd love to put my guitar in there instead of the slayer though, the slayer gets a bit overwhelming after a while, I'd like to see a bit more variation here.
I'd also love to hear a bit of a string section in the background, a bit of an orchestral touch about halfway through to take the edge off the guitar.
Keep 'em coming.

Sounds alright, slayer is fun to mess with, but only a handful of people can get a realistic sound out of it, I prefer a real guitar.
But for just messing about, it's pretty cool.
Author's Response:
Thanks, I'm gonna look for an actual guitar VST soon for the collab.

Drums were good. The mix of instruments were good, now I think you need to extend upon what you've already got to fill it out, make it more exciting. It would be great to have a contrasting section that is much more busy and full of energy to contrast what you have now, which is fairly quiet. That would give the song a great atmosphere and bring the whole thing to life.
Keep em coming, you're making decent progress for your second song.

Nice harmonies. Drums are done well XD
I really like the little interlude type part where you break from the traditional tune. One thing that you did better than the other MAC entries was giving the upbeat christmas tune a videogame feel, with the harmonies and the middle part, it fits better with the 8-bit theme, whereas other people are turning christmas tunes 8-bit without making them right for the videogame vibe. Although it's not as original as rucklo's, there's the interlude and the very slick 8-bit jingle bells melody with a bit of original spin. So, for that, I'll give you a 9/10 and 5/5.
If you get the time, would you mind checking out my MAC entry, I'd really appreciate your opinion.
Cheers. Well done.
