[KR- S3&K Act 2 boss]

The start was pretty good

And the part around 2:15. I still think the guitar sounds out of place in this song.
The harp and guitar at the end sound out of key. The ambient tone at around 1:25 was quite nice, but the part before it sounded like a completely different cover of the same song. The extra instrument at around 1:35 sounds out of tune, and doesn't mix well with the ambience you had just built up. It was too fast and too loud and harsh by comparison. THe drums sound very dry and empty, too punchy for a song of this style. Add a bit of reverb and turn the volume down a bit should fix this. The chords with the main melody at the start doesn't sound like the best thing to harmonise with, it sounds like it should have more direction, but doesn't.

As a whole, I think it sounds more like two songs than one, and again, you've got some mixing/blending issues, but I thought the part at 2:15 was very good, and had a lot of potential to be a great track in its own right. I think you just need to get a good group of instruments to work with, fine tune the mixing, make sure the drums and bass and harmonies don't drown out the lead, work on getting a more even flow between different sections of the song, and, like I said in the previous review, just keep working at it, you're a hell of a lot better than when you started, but the work doesn't stop here, it never stops, so I think it best to keep the criticism up, just to keep the pressure on ya ;D
I'll PM you with some instruments you could use in the future, but keep the piano and harp and various other keyboard instruments.

It's good, but it needs work

The brass/harp are out of tune with echother at the start. The quick brass notes sound cut off, those sorts of samples are meant for more sustained notes. After that it gets better. Then, the guitar like sound, it doesn't really blend well with the other instruments. The pan flutes are nice, except for a few pitch (I'm thinking the pitch discrepancies were intentional here?) and timing issues, and when they go too low. THe pan flute is a high pitched instrument, and only really sounds good within those higher frequencies. The best part, I would have to say was when the pian came in. You get some good pace there, and the tune really powers through. It was probably the part with the best mix too, most of the time the lead didn't stand out enough, as it was drowned out by the parts that should have been supporting it.

If I were you, I'd probably use the guitar a lot less, bring the melody out some more and balance the mix of instruments better. Keep using that piano though, if you were to have the piano as the harmony throughout your songs, and maybe give the flute or harp the lead, or maybe try using a violin every now and then, that would be damned awesome. The drums were great, too, not overpowering, but they gave out a good forward momentum for the track.

Sorry to sound so negative, but there are fundamentals that are missing from your music, such as a more cohesive blend of instruments. There are flashes of great work here, there really is, and I'd love to see you turn those short passages of great work into full songs.

Keep it up, man! Let me know when you get some more music out, and I'll review them for sure. Keep on working at it, and keep on improving. I look forward to the rest of the album.

The adult male african albino leopard bides its time, waiting, ever so still, for the opportune moment to strike.
This is a nice rhytmic ambint piece. It's not overly outstanding, and the bending of the wind instrument was a bit too odd for me to handle, but the percussion is great, handled really well.

Keep it up. It'd be cool if you built up a whole song like this, and added more elements to it to have a colourful and energetic melody to go with the drum work.

Grr...

Finish this song. It has a lot of potential. You've got 3 sections here, it shouldn't be too hard to flesh it out a bit.
Have an introduction, bring in the yeah yeah yeahs, go into the synth part, go back to the yeah yeah yeah's, build on that, some more variation, build up the drums more, get the drums to drop out for the vocoded yeah yeah yeah's and just have clapping, no synth either. Add in the synth a bit later, reintroduce the drums, have a short build up to a very busy yeah yeah yeah's chorus, and maybe just drop everything out at the end except for the yeah yeah yeah's, and have them fade into nothing, maybe speed them up as well, and gradually switch the normal yeah yeah yeah's with the vocoded ones.

That's what I think you should try doing. That should bring the song out to 2-3 minutes, easy, I reckon.
Oh, and maybe if you switched the normal synth instrument up the octave once or twice, maybe after they have their part on their own, up the octave when the yeah yeah yeah's come along. That'd sound frickin' awesome.

Effortless

You make this music so goddamn awesome, yet you make it sound so effortlessly easy to make. I remember you mentioning only taking a few hours to make "I Thank You", and now you've got this one shortly after. I know when I'm working on a song, several hours work will either be pretty mediochre quality or unfinished. I spend days trying to make a high quality song, and you can pull it out of your ass without second guessing. Yes, that's a compliment, I'm just jealous, you sonofabitch.
What else can I say, the music is awesome. Very catchy, easy to listen to, the dynamic fluctuations kick ass. The score is a huge injustice to how good this song really is. 5'd, 10'd, fav'd. :D

I'm always jealous when I listen to one of your DnB tracks. You make this sort of thing sound so neat and easy. This song isn't overly complex in terms of composition, but it's got a great high quality sound and it's got a nice background aura to it.
